Sarah E. Merkle, JD, is the Treasurer of the American College of Parliamentary Lawyers. As an associate with the business and securities litigation practice at Bradley Arant, she represents clients in the construction, healthcare, energy, manufacturing, and banking industries. Sarah is one of fewer than 25 individuals worldwide to have achieved the credentials of Certified Professional Parliamentarian and Professional Registered Parliamentarian. She serves as a parliamentarian and professional presiding officer to boards and associations across the country, ensuring legal compliance and fostering efficiency in every stage of business meetings, including motions, nominations, bylaws and elections.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, Sarah served as editor-in-chief of the South Carolina Law Review and was named the Outstanding Law Student of the Year by the National Association of Women Lawyers. Prior to attending law school, she was Director of Marketing and Operations for the Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University and was an adjunct professor in the school’s Communications Department.
In Sarah’s spare time, she roots for the St. Louis Cardinals and makes frequent visits north to enjoy time with her seven nieces and one nephew.
